Recent Accomplishments
2005-2006 Large Hospital of the Year - Presented to Floyd by the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals to highlight the success of Floyd's Indigent Care Task Force. Caring for the uninsured, Floyd provided $11.7 million over the past five years in free prescriptions for indigent patients.
2006 Compass Award for Customer Service Improvement - For the fifth consecutive year, Floyd was nationally recognized by Press Ganey for customer service initiatives.
Primary Stroke Center - The Joint Commission recognized Floyd with its gold seal of approval, indicating Floyd has the critical elements to achieve long-term success in improving outcomes of stroke.
Hip Resurfacing Surgery - Floyd's Surgical Services Team was the first in Georgia to perform the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing procedure. Lead by Dr. Kenneth C. Sands, M.D., Harbin Clinic orthopedic surgeon.
VHA Georgia Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence -Floyd was recognized for successfully decreasing wait times by 81% and dramatically improving customer satisfaction in the Emergency Care Center.
